April 2010; Nintendo - 'Wii Fit Summer 2010' - (Commercial)

 


 

Due to hit all UK TV, Sky channels, publications and on-line from May, Janine shoots a commercial for Nintendo playing the lead.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

December 2009; 'Conversations' - (Film)

Janine plays Tracy the Braggers Girl and is married to Steve the Bragger.  Both born and bred from Basildon, Essex. Apart from the odd flirtation with others (to keep things alive and interesting) Tracy is totally committed to the marriage as they both struggle to keep up with the Jones's.  Tracy has made what her husband is today and he knows and appreciates it.  Thus, Tracy puts up and understands why he likes to be the loudest person in the room, not to mention his mother!

Directed by Miran Hawkes, Conversations is about how in our dreams we see life not necessarily how we normally would!

 

December 2009; 'Joe's Knob' - (Film)

Directed by David Kline, Joe's Knob is a comedy about the perils of conforming slavishly to fashion and following celebrities, no matter what they get up to.

Three fashion keen girls meet to discuss their friend's latest plastic surgery.  When she arrives to show them they are initially shocked at the results but become envious after they discover the 'enhancement' is vogue amongst celebrities. 

Janine takes on the role of Sally who likes to conform to great lengths no matter the consequences it may leave.

 

September 2009; 'Finding Michael' - (Rehearsed Reading)

Janine plays the lead - Rachel at The New Writing Festival in London.  Directed and written by Neill Hoskins, Finding Michael is new writing.  

A dark thriller about trust, love and holding onto hope...  A girls searches for her long lost brother only to find that conman Peter is posing as him whilst the real Michael lays coma tossed in a hospital bed.

June 2008; 'Sting / Purple Surgery / Reed Health Care' - (TV)

 

 

This is Janine's first TV appearance as a Sister Nurse for NHS 247 TV, directed by James Esposito.

 


 

 

 

May 2008; Trip to Cannes

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

After starring in 'The Test', Janine is now going to Cannes Film Festival with the film.  She plays Natasha - a south east London gangland girl. 

 

March 2008; 'The English Language' - (Film)

The Dollar has fallen again against the euro and the pound.  'The English Language' explores the implications of this currency fluctuation on a company based in the UK.                             

Michelle Robinson is a confident, warm but firm, no-nonsense TV reporter who is able to bring in and out politicians, movie stars, world leaders and correspondents into her show. 

 

February 2008; 'The Test'- (Film)

Janine is filming with Director Joel Chu at ETC Films, taking on the role of Natasha - a south east London gangland girl.

 

'The Test' is a subject matter suspense thriller set in south east London.  Natasha is the main cause of so much suffering throughout the film.

 

 

 

 

 

July-Nov 2007; 'What we think but don't say' - (Film)

Janine is currently doing a feature film with Director Prince Davis, taking on the role of Kate Roberts.

This screenplay is a story about people's mind set and their ability to say or discuss or express themselves in a way that would not have been possible in a politically correct society, for fear of reprisals and or retribution, whether it be from individuals or the law itself. 

 

Oct-Nov 2007; 'Forget-me-Knot' - (Theatre)

Janine is currently doing her first play with
Rolling Sky Productions

           

She plays the role of Samantha who is Inspector Monroe's wife and turns out to be having an affair with Robert Zeinfeld.

 'Forget me Knot' is a comedy by David Tristram and is being performed as the OPEN REPRESENTATION at The Courtyard Theatre's exciting new venue in Old Street.

 Aug 2007; 'Pablo' - (Film)

'Pablo' is directed by Dwight Jackson, Janine takes on the role of Maya.

Set in Las Vegas, Maya realises mixing work with pleasure is a dangerous concoction.  Her doubts about Pablo and his womanising ways stops her letting go and getting closer to him.

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 Aug 2007; Trip to Los Angeles

Janine goes to Los Angeles to train with International Acting Coach
Bernard Hiller.  Classes incorporate techniques from The Method Actors Studio, from Lee Strasberg to Sandy Meisner.  Guests who attended - Director Gary Marshall (Pretty Woman, Georgia Rule), Producer Mark Harris (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), Casting Directors April Webster (Lost, Star Trek), Debra Aquila (The Shawshank Redemption, Sex, Lies and Video Tapes). 

 

July 2007; 'All Bound Up' - (Film)
           

 

'All Bound Up' is the story of three men who fall foul of a lady who is not as nice as she first seems.  Janine takes on the role of Candy, a trained assassin who goes on a killing spree.


 

 

 

 

 

May 2007 - 'Right Thing' - (Film)

This is

Janine's second film with Laith Sami.  'Right Thing' is the story of a mother who discovers her child was switched at birth and the implications this has on her life.  Janine created the role of Anna.

 


November 2006 - 'Product of the 80's' - (Film)

 


'Product of the 80's' is directed by Alex Barrett.  The film revolves around the main female character Anne-Marie who receives a surprise visit from her childhood sweetheart who shares with her a secret her husband does not know.  Janine created the role of Anne-Marie in this film. 



October 2006 - 'Studs' - (Theatre)

 

Directed by Jamie Ramsburg this production of 'Studs' performs at the Soho Theatre - London.   It is the story of two 'tomboy' friends whose love for football unites them, but the friendship eventually dissolves in disaster! Janine created the role of Mandy.

May 2006 - 'The Zombie Enigma' - (Film)

Set in 1920's America and shot in black & white, this thriller directed by Matt Thomas is the story of a sister's search for her brother before it is too late.  Janine in the title role of Jane finds herself being rescued by Detective John Bramley.

 

April 2006 - 'Three and a Half' - (Film)

Directed by Larissa Alves, this film revolves around a man caught between the love of two women in which Janine creates the role of Claudia.

 

 

March 2006 - 'Lesson' - (Film)

Janine's first film following drama school, Directed by Laith Sami, 'Lesson' is the story of Trisha - a mother who is struggling to keep her family together who decides to take action leading to drastic circumstances she could not have foreseen.  Janine creates the role of Trisha.

 

April 2005 - 'Red Devils' - (Theatre)

Performed at The Criterion - London and directed by Esta Charkham.  This is a play revolving around the story of 3 brassy Northern girls who are Manchester United fans and meet to watch their team The Reds on a Saturday afternoon.  Janine creates the role of Nita.

 

2005 - 'The Children's Hour' - (Theatre)

 

 

Directed by renowned theatre director Richard Beecham, Janine play's the icy cold Mrs Tilford in Lillian Hellman's controversial 1934 stage play 'The Children's Hour'.  

A drama set in an all-girls boarding school.  Lies and deception of an attention seeking and mischievous child, leads to the destroyed careers, relationships and lives of others.

'Janine Gateland, with red boots and handbag's invests doing her Nita's make-up with fine unspoken communication, and her spoken characterisation with panache. It's an entertaining and thoughtful script, with matching performances'.
